Strokeversary

It's my stroke anniversary.

Five years!

Because I had trouble finding my writing words

after the stroke,

I started making art in earnest.

Isn't it beautiful

that troubles can become the soil

for new gardens?

The Dirt

I'm Faith Pray. Yes, that's my name - by marriage.

I'm an author-illustrator from the Pacific Northwest who regularly wrangles four wildebeests and two cats.

I am passionate about books, literacy, and rainstorms. My coffee cup is half-full. When a stroke left me struggling with my writing words, I started taking classes in visual illustration, hoping to find a way back to stories. And I did! I fell in love with picture books, and set out to read and sketch and grow myself into a picture book maker.

My author-illustrator debut THE STARKEEPER, is coming out with Random House on June 9.

This is where I share my hunt for sacred moments

in the midst of the whirl, joy in the daily dirt.
