After enjoying a delicious read in Dreamdark: Blackbringer by Laini Taylor,
I feasted on her second novel, Dreamdark: Silksinger.
Brilliant!
No wonder she's getting kudos all over the place for her work.
Lips Touch, Laini's latest book was a National Book award finalist.
It's a collections of three richly woven stories which
all hinge on a kiss.
Laini Taylor's books are clever jewels
set off with gorgeous illustrations
by her husband Jim Di Bartolo.
I promised to share notes from Laini's talk on plotting
at the SCBWI Western Washington conference this spring.
Better yet - she's posted it on her blog
What are you reading lately?

I love Laini's Dreamdark books and Lips Touch. The illustrations are amazing, too.
As for most recent read, it was Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan, which was an intriguing steampunk for ages 12 up. Lots of history turned inside out as science and technology took routes other than we know.
Aw, thanks, Faith. You're so sweet :-)

Faith Pray,
It is my solemn duty to PLEAD with you to read The Hunger Games. Once you have begun turning the pages, no other book will matter to you with the exception of the sequels. You will forget to eat and take care of the children. You may not even answer the phone or shower till you get through it. Yep. THAT good!
Tricia, thanks for sharing your latest! Sounds like great fun!
Brian I will heed your earnest plea. "The Hunger Games" has risen to the top of the list.
Brian is right, Faith - it really is that good!
Laini's book look very interesting. I'll try them. :-)
I'm finishing "Catching Fire" the sequel to "The Hunger Games". "Adios, Nivana" by Conrad Wesselhoeft, "Dragons of Noor" by Janet Lee Carey and "Tell Me a Secret" by Holly Cupala, and "Finding Water" by Julia Cameron.
On my to-be-read list, Keeper by Kathi Appelt, brilliant writer.
