I've been dissecting books lately -
I'm reading and analyzing and trying to get
at the wild animal that is successful writing.
And in the process, I found I wanted
to actually cut something up.
So we made wordy gifts for our teachers and mamas.
Ah, clipboards.
I've often thought I could go just about
anywhere with a clipboard and feel official.
So, the wordy gifts are done.
And the figurative book dissection continues...
I'll fill you in tomorrow on my discoveries.

I love this! Beautiful flowers.
And I feel like I need to go get a clipboard now. Can't remember the last time I used one.... but you're right. Something about holding them to write on. It's empowering! :)
Looking forward to reading the dissection analysis. Wild animal... successful writing... indeed.
Was that a Russian book you cut up?

Kellie, yes! Clipboards equal offical-dom. When I was in Kyrghyzstan, we did some volunteer cleaning in the hospitals, and they gave us these white doctor lab coats to wear! I can't tell you how exciting it felt to be walking around, looking like doctors! Thanks for visiting my blog!
Bloom, yes, books and wild animals. At least, that's how it feels sometimes with all these hazy revisions! And yes, it's Russian. I stocked up on magazine-type books during my Russia year.
Oh my goodness! I want to make every single one of these little crafties! Yarn-bomb pencils! What a good idea.
Thank you so much for linking to our first ever All SPunk, No Junk link party! I hope you'll come back again! This is an awesome project! I'm totally making yarn bomb pencils with my girlies!!!
(and I think I have a chinese newspaper somewhere that has been waiting for a project like this ;)
