Stuffed Letters

It's Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America Day!

To celebrate, we get to wear jammies to school,
eat bread and jam, and read books all day.
I love kindergarten.
I love reading.
I love word parties!

Without Dr. Seuss,
we'd be a sorry lot.
No green eggs,
no Whoville,
no cats in hats,
no Read Across America parties.

What's your favorite Dr. Seuss element, character or book?

More birthday fun:

How does a writerly mom
say "Happy Birthday"?

Stuffed Letters, of course!

I saw this cool idea in the book "Simple Sewing for Baby" by Lotta Jansdotter.

What are you reading lately?

Never knew a letter could be stuffed,
But if it ate its "p's" and "q's"
And forgot to say "enough!"
Then oh, my achin' bacon.
"I swallowed the whole cow!"
Will become its song and motto,
And make it pause before more chow.

What I am trying to say is, great idea, Faith, vunderful post, sublime stichery, and huzzah for Seusslandia!

Do they flourish gifts to those who
comment most like Dr. Seuss
Would they, could they
give you prizes
when your great brain exercises
-especially on his big To-Do?
I hope it's true!
I hope they do!
(And, for humoring my Geisel-izes,
many, many thanks to you!)
