Why Children Are Not Nesting Dolls

I made matryoshka dolls for our Christmas babies
from fabric scraps.

Pip loved them so much she asked Santa for a "katroomshka" doll too.

Here's the first lady. She's self-contained and proud of it, until...

Surprise!

Out pops another lady!

More!

my happy niece with her doll!

A word to the wise:

dolls are much easier to photograph than children.
Dolls sit still

keep sweet smiles on their faces,

don't suddenly get hold of all the cutlery

and play "Little Drummer Boy" on the baby.

Yep.
Happy holidays!
May your new year be filled with joy
and peace. lots of it!

oh those live dollies are the best! I just want to squeeze them but they'd squeek then wouldn't they. Maybe I could just nibble on them a little bit? OK I won't. but I want to.

This is the Happiest Post on Earth. I love the joy and energy in the children (even with the occasional pout) and the colorful wonder of the dolls. Your talent shines on many levels. You made my day!

Thank you, blog pals!
I agree, live dolls are more exciting, and more lovable. (and edible.)
For the record, no child was harmed in filming. Babycakes was rescued from the cutlery before any real drumming started.
