Nesting

I've discovered a similarity between
Bowerbirds,
those fascinatingly compulsive artists of the bird world
and
pregnant women.

Or, at least,
obsessively-creative-and-due-in-a-week
pregnant women.

Here are pictures of my nest:

Art includes a few of my watercolors
and an original from my brother Jesse Joshua Watson on the far wall.

I found the crib second-hand and "aged" it
with crayons to blend in the scratches.

Ribbon scrap mobiles for "Sugar Snack"
and his newly arriving sister

Baby booties fashioned from old clothes

Bulletin boards for "Sugar Snack" and his new roommate

The nest is feathered,
my blog fingers are at low tide
as I wait
to meet
baby Pray...

I love your nest so much! Makes we want another baby so that I can hang ribbons over her bed.

What a cozy nest, Faith. When is Baby Pray due?

Thanks Erin and Rayna!

Baby Pray is expected to arrive August third. That's in four days!

oh Faith - where has my head been? I don't know. I love the nest - it looks like heaven to me. Your dear map hearts feather my writing nest which I need to move because we're expecting a baby in august too. Only he is fifteen! His name is Felix and he is an international student coming to Nova Scotia from Berlin and he's going to live in my office. I got a lot of nesting to do in the next two weeks!
Can't wait to hear about your new wee bird...
